Sutureless Valve Surgery
Sutureless Valve Surgery
Aortic stenosis is the most common valvular disease in which the valve between the lower left chamber of the heart and the aorta is narrowed. This reduces the blood flow from the heart to the aorta and the rest of the body.
There are no medications that can reverse aortic stenosis with the only treatment being to replace the diseased valve. Sutureless aortic valves are effectively used for aortic valve replacement in selected patients.
Sutureless valves decrease the cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and aortic cross-clamp (ACC) times and facilitate both conventional and minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
With the introduction of sutureless valves patients have experienced excellent results. The mortality rates have also reduced significantly.
